Experience
I have been an elementary teacher in 1st, 3rd, and 4th grades for the past 7 years. This is my second year of teaching ESOL (English to Speakers of Other Languages) at the elementary level. I absolutely adore teaching. I have been a tutor for the past 6 years (outside of school). I have tutored students from Kindergarten through 12th grade. I love tutoring, because I am able to work one-on-one with a student. It is such a joy to really get to learn and know a student's strengths and areas of concern. Catering my instruction to best fit a student's individual, personal needs is very beneficial for the student and for me (the teacher). As a teacher and as a tutor, my goal is to help each student build upon their strengths and and grow in their challenging areas. I love seeing the growth both academically and socially in any student that I tutor. :) I have especially enjoyed ACT tutoring, because I am able to work with high school students. While I love teaching elementary students, it is a nice change to work with older students. :-) Helping to equip my ACT students by successfully preparing them to take the exam is a great joy. Regarding ACT tutoring, I tutor 6-7 weeks before (more, if requested) a student's scheduled ACT exam. I teach students specific strategies that align with each of the four sections of the ACT (and the Writing, as well). We will work on guided practice and pacing, in order to ensure each student's best performance on the exam.

Hobbies
I love being with my toddler son, newborn son, husband and dog, cooking, baking, practicing yoga, running, working out, reading, and traveling. :) I watch the babies in the nursery at church, and I absolutely love that!
