EducationI earned my Bachelor of Arts in psychology fall 2012; consistently on the dean's list year after year and graduated with a 3.4 GPA - with a 3.8 average in my area of expertise - English. I am a proud graduate of Sycamore High School (Cincinnati), having taken honors English and honors U.S. Government. I was also published in the University of Cincinnati Medical School's World AIDS Day (2007) catalog - my proudest moment as an amateur writer/poet!
ExperienceI have tutored privately since 2006, beginning as a volunteer at my university's writing lab; my love for writing, reading, and overall mastery of the English language compelled me to seek income-based work in this field. It has been the most rewarding work I have ever endeavored!
I work with children of all ages, as well as adults, and especially enjoyed assisting 2 elementary school-aged children from S. Korea in their ESL target needs. Since I am a psychology grad, I am also open to tutoring within this discipline as well. My psychology GPA upon graduation was a 3.8 as well - I am adept in psychobiology; neuropsychology; child development; interpersonal relations; conflict resolution; and many more sub-areas. I stand behind my work, my belief in absolute patience/compassion/dedication, and the mindset that a little self-confidence goes a long way! You may find me on various (countless!) other tutoring sites, i.e. craigslist.org; liveperson.com; nextguru.com; tutors-live.org; tutorselect.com; and care.com.
I have excellent references available upon request.

HobbiesI have a wide range of hobbies and interests, but the ones that stand out most include: spending time with family (especially my black lab-mix, Kindred; she is the love of my life!); writing; traveling; many types of music; most activities outdoors; MAJOR movie buff; and I adore soccer (having played 10 years).

It is not every English editor Who can "amplify" a person's style of conveying a message through the English language. Nicole forbus is an English tutor, an editor, and a professional who forms good relationship with any person in need of help with the English language.
Although I have used some tutors in the past, who were helpful. I found it extremely frustrating that some took their time, or just didn’t want to get in touch with me within a certain time frame. This experience just recently happened again. I think it’s in poor taste to leave a student waiting in the wings. If they can’t help, forever what reason, it’s best if they just acknowledge that with the student to prevent hard feelings. I want to personally thank my latest tutor for being very helpful and dependable. Nicole was an excellent tutor, and she also helped me get over my writing mental block. Nicole also realized that I was hitting a wall, due to my heavy workload assignment, but she encouraged me to keep going. Nicole, as I stated earlier, was very dependable and responded quickly as possible, which is important, when I really needed help. I received an “A”--- Overall----Good job!
