Student helper: I did not previously tutor, but I did work as a student helper through my 2 upperclassmen years for my Spanish teacher Mrs. Wilke at Walnut Hills High School. My duties included grading some of the classwork, helping with lesson plan ideas (occasionally) and a few times Mrs. Wilke let me teach the class. My ACT score composite score was a 29: 30 English, 26 Mathematics, 33 Reading, 28 Science. I want to be a tutor because I love to teach others. Both of my parents are collegiate English professors at NKU and as such I grew up around my parents giving me detailed lectures. I learned how to structure my teaching methods from watching them. I have taken a class (SPI 402) in Spanish Phonetics and pronunciation that helps greatly with the acquisition of Spanish pronunciation. I received the Premio de Oro for 98th percentile on the 2011 NSA (National Spanish Exam) 2013 Faculty Senate Scholarship winner at NKU (full tuition for the child of 1 faculty member)
