I hold a B.S. in Neuroscience from U of Michigan, with a minor in Ukrainian Language and Culture. I'm in the midst of the medical school application process, and hope to start in the fall. In college, I served as Senior Editor of a student publication for three years and gained experience editing the work of writers with a variety of writing styles and strengths and weaknesses. After graduation, I taught a U of M science program for teens, investigating topics relating to developmental biology and genetics. Having a hand in generating that type of contagious learning atmosphere was thrilling. Each student differs from every other student, and successful education depends upon teachers and tutors being willing and able to adapt materials and approaches to suit each individual's optimal style of learning, strengths, and weaknesses. This is my goal with every student I work with. Although I have tutored in a wide range of subject areas from elementary school Reading and Writing through MCAT preparation, I most enjoy working with students in Biology and English. When I'm not teaching/tutoring, I enjoy exploring the nature trails in the Cincinnati area, playing with my puppy, and cooking.
