I believe that in order to teach a child properly, one has to be able to first learn what they can do well and what they are weaker at. It is at that point that the academic work can begin.I have worked for many years with students following my graduation in 1999 from Miami (Ohio) University with a degree in Spanish education and a French minor. Throughout my travels, I have taught English as a second language, while also working with students with special needs. I have also taught math, English, and social studies, and worked as a Special Education Coordinator at a charter school for four years. I have a background in working with pupils who are reading at a lower level than their classmates, and a majority of my time has been spent in Title I schools. I take pride in working with students to climb the academic ladder to success, and work to create lessons that are hands-on, auditory, and visual for individual students.When I'm not in the classroom or working with kids, I enjoy reading, going to sporting events, and fishing. I also like to travel, both in this country and internationally, as I have traveled to France, Germany and Mexico.
