I am currently a resident of Cincinnati, Ohio. I earned a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from Ohio State University and a Master of Science in Mathematics from the University of Cincinnati. I am passionate about mathematics, especially calculus with its mystical concept of limits. I have 31 years of experience as a teacher and tutor of math. All of this experience has taught me the most common mistakes made by students, so I can help students to avoid them. My tutoring philosophy is to teach the "why" of the subject, not merely the steps to the solution. Subject areas within math I am willing to tutor include elementary and middle school math, pre-algebra, all levels of algebra, geometry, trigonometry, statistics, pre-calculus, all levels of calculus, competition math, discrete math, and IB- and AP-level mathematics classes.In my spare time, I play accordion, sometimes alone and sometimes in my band. I also enjoy doing cryptic crosswords, international folk dancing, and playing with my pet ferrets.
