Experience
I have gained invaluable experience in education. Much of my career was spent teaching in colleges and universities around the US. When I work with students on test prep, I focus on reviewing the content, reducing test-related anxiety, and provide test-taking strategies that can boost performance. My understanding of testing stems from my time as a National Merit Finalist, where I developed many different strategies. In addition to test prep, I am capable of tutoring students in Latin, writing, English, history, and many other topics. I can work with a student to help them with essay editing, as well as help them work through a complicated concept in geography. As a tutor, I believe that everything is interconnected. When my students develop the skills needed to succeed in their subjects, they gain skills that are relevant to all parts of life. I strive to make relevant connections between material and the student, preferably based on their personal interests. Outside of tutoring, I am an avid reader and music listener. I love music of all types. I am a sports fanatic who also plays board games. I also spend a lot of time learning about leadership theory.
